Petey (first photo) was adopted from KHS after spending three weeks in our care. He was one of our longer-term residents, so we knew it was important to provide him with plenty of daily enrichment to decrease his stress levels. Stuffed Kongs are part of our shelter’s daily enrichment program, and the dogs can’t wait to get their paws on a frozen Kong and lick the delicious filling out. Petey was no exception. Kongs helped us keep his mind active in between walks and playtime. Because the Kongs helped reduce his stress levels, he was able to put his best paw forward when he met his new family.
Since his adoption, Petey has stayed busy and now has an important job to do: He is a registered service dog for a child with autism, and she is his top priority each day. His calm and sweet personality makes an impact on everyone he meets!
