How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were sent about 15 Kong toys that were give to some of our long-term residents and overly hyper dogs, and a couple went to puppies.

They help with enrichment of the animals. They are greatly appreciated by not only the residents but also the staff!

How many pets did this grant help?

We average approximately 50 dogs at any given time. With the number we received, about half of them got to enjoy the toys!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

One of the dogs who benefitted from this grant is Cuba. Cuba is one our our long-term residents. He has been here a majority of his life. He was adopted out as a puppy and was returned several months later due to aggression with other dogs. Cuba is a good boy! He has A LOT of energy, so he was given one of the Kong bones with peanut butter to help stimulate his mind.

Cuba has been at the shelter for 785 days as of today. He is only 4 years old. Toys like this are crucial for dogs like Cuba! Meet Cuba here.
