Pet Refuge: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

By waiving adoption fees, we placed some of our tougher-to-place residents. To see a senior or special-needs resident go home is amazing.

How many pets did this grant help?

We placed eight dogs and 14 cats!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

By waiving fees, we were able to place many long-term animals. Muffles (first photo) was a senior fella who needed a golden-year home. He was placed with an amazing senior woman and they adore each other!

Delilah (second and third photos) was a long-term foster pit bull dog with skin issues and continuous ear infections. After an aggressive medical treatment plan and ear surgeries, she was cleared for adoption and went home! Delilah is the sweetest dog and is living a wonderful, spoiled life!

Aphrodite (fourth photo) was a lovely dilute tortie whom everyone overlooked. A couple came in wanting to adopt their first cat; they thought they wanted a specific cat they’d seen on our Petfinder page, but upon spending time in our cat rooms, they met Aphrodite and a family was created!
