How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The donated Kong toys provide enrichment for all of the dogs in our care. We get dogs who are high-energy and need something to focus on, and anxious dogs who need an outlet for their anxiety. In addition, most dogs need something to help them learn that their crate is a good place. In one year, the toys donated will help more than 100 dogs, and more beyond that year since they are tough toys!

We have dogs who are undergoing heartworm treatment and need calm activities to enrich their lives. The Kong toys are a great outlet for this!

Daisy was diagnosed with heartworm and has been on strict rest for the duration of her treatment. She is very good, but still gets bored when her activity is restricted.

She has been enjoying her Kong toy with peanut butter, spray cheese, and a variety of other treats while she has been recovering. It was apparent that she had never been given a Kong before, but she quickly figured it out and loves them now!

Thank you for making Daisy’s life better. She is approaching the end of her treatment period and has a family that has been waiting to adopt her, so she will be going to her forever home soon. We’ve let them know how much she enjoys her Kongs!
