How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Because of the grant awarded to us from Purina and the Petfinder Foundation, we were able to put those funds towards the purchase of eight boxes of Immiticide, which is the medicine we use to treat our dogs with heartworms.

With these injections, we began the successful treatment for Beluga, a 1-year-old black Labrador Retriever mix; King Bob, a 1-1⁄2-year-old black and tan shepherd mix; Ruger, a 2-year-old tan mastiff mix; and William, a 5-year-old tri-color beagle (pictured from top to bottom). All four of these dogs were pulled from the local animal control facility, which would not have been able to treat any of the heartworm-positive dogs. However, this grant allowed us help these dogs get back to becoming healthy and adoptable pets. All of these pets are now in loving homes.
