Wish Bone Canine Rescue: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used these Sponsor a Pet donations to help with the costs of a behavioral trainer for Spike and to provide his routine veterinary care: exam, vaccinations, heartworm-testing, deworming, preventatives.

Without donations, as an organization, we would be unable to afford the costs of behavioral training and would be unable to provide comprehensive veterinary services to our rescued dogs. These donations have enabled the dogs in our care to receive the services they need in order to bring them into good health and help teach them good manners!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Spike was a naughty terrier when we rescued him. He had very little training and was headstrong and a bit of a bully, though he was also very sweet at the same time. Our trainer went to work with Spike to teach him manners, basic obedience and how to express himself without being a bully about it. The trainer’s efforts were successful and Spike found his forever family, which included another dog for him to play with. His owner has continued Spike’s training and Spike is living his dream life, happily ever after.
