Henry County Humane Society-Geneseo: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The money has not been used yet, but it will be used to provide food to Daisie's adopter for the remainder of Daisie's life.
This grant is intended to make Daisie more accessible to adopt. With her being on a more expensive special food, it could make her unaffordable to some potential adopters. With us providing the food to the adopter, it makes her more adoptable to more people.
How many pets did this grant help?
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Daisie has been at our shelter for 204 days. Despite the fact that Daisie is a sweet cat who enjoys lots of ear scratches, she has a lot stacked against her. Unfortunately, she is a black cat and an 11-1/2-year-old senior “kitizen” who is on U/R cat food and really would do best in a quiet home. So for poor Daisie, there just aren’t a lot of adopters out there looking for a cat like her. BUT that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. The one thing Daisie does have going for her is that whoever is approved to adopt her will not have to buy any cat food for her.
Daisie has not been adopted yet. You can meet Daisie here.
