Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Trigger (first and second photos), a 1-year-old German shepherd mix rescued from St. Clair County Animal Control, was rescued with heartworms. The sponsorship collected was used towards his five-week treatment to get him healthy and prepared for his new life. Trigger was adopted on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, to a wonderful home!

Dotson (third photo), a 2-year-old pit bull terrier rescued from Madison County Animal Control, was rescued after being hit by a vehicle. Dotson had to have a very extensive surgery and recovery. The sponsorship collected for Dotson helped Partners for Pets complete this surgery and prepare him for his new life.

Dotson and his sweet nature broke all of our hearts. He had been struck by a vehicle and endured a broken leg. He was lying in the pound in so much pain, but even still, when our shelter manager walked up to him, he put his head down, thumped his tail and lifted his leg to give her his belly. He instantly melted our hearts. We had been struggling to pay for all of our injured animals, but how could we walk away from him? We couldn’t. The sponsorship collected through the Petfinder Foundation has helped Partners for Pets provide Dotson with the care he needed to get on the right track and find himself a loving home. Dotson is still waiting patiently for his special someone to come along. Please visit Dotson’s profile at https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/34926556
