Helping Paws Animal Shelter: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

It helps us provide needy dogs and cats with a clean, safe shelter; medical care; and the opportunity to be adopted by responsible families.

Additional funds such as yours help us provide much-needed medical care as well as socialization and training to make the pets more content and adoptable.

How many pets did this grant help?

We are able to take in and adopt out close to 1,000 pets a year. Grant money and Sponsor a Pet donations help us to continue providing this adoption opportunity.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Last summer, with funds such as those provided by your Foundation, we were able to take in six Jack Russell terriers in dire need of rescuing from a neglectful hoarding situation in Ohio. All of them needed socialization, extensive medical care, and a nurturing environment in which to help them with their abandonment and trust issues. Within several months, all of them were successfully adopted. (See photos of Diamond, Spirit and Hope.)
