The grant helped HSCI to adopt animals that has been at the shelter for an extended period of time or who were older pets. The funds were used to reduce the adoption fees, which helped to get these pets adopted.

Champ (first photo) is a 3-legged dog who was adopted through the grant. He was a very sweet dog but it was going to take more work on the part of his adopters since he had a front leg amputated prior to coming to HSCI. The grant helped to get him noticed and he found his forever home.

Also, our friends Cleo (second photo), Carter (third photo), and Mocha (a cat), who have been with us for over 600 days combined, were adopted to their forever homes all on the same day. It was a fantastic day for the pets and our staff to celebrate.
