How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We received the Kong grant.

Boxers love Kongs! Many of the boxers coming to us have separation anxiety. Giving the boxer a Kong that has been filled with yummy treats and frozen when the dog is being left alone helps the boxer to learn that good things happen when he is left alone.

How many pets did this grant help?

Countless! The Kongs will be used for many boxers yet to come to us.

Sabrina (first photo) came to us with severe separation anxiety. On top of the separation anxiety, she was terrified of a crate and would not go near it. Starting out slowly, we started placing her Kong close to her crate, then right by the crate, and eventually in the crate with the door open. We are still working on the separation anxiety, but with the help of a Kong, she is no longer terrified of her crate, which is a huge step for Sabrina.
