The product grant was for Warm Bellies P.L.A.Y. pet beds.
The beds were mostly used for the smaller dogs to help them feel more comfortable while here at the shelter. The biggest use came for the dogs that were scared or neglected and needed that extra TLC. All the dogs at the shelter get bedding to lie on, but the pet beds were an added bonus as they are much nicer for the dogs. They became sort of a security blanket for the dogs, something they could call their own while here at the shelter. It was a real comfort to see them snuggled up on their own little beds. Some of the really neglected ones that were all matted and needing lots of grooming and TLC really benefited.
We have used these beds on dozens of the smaller and neglected dogs.
Recently five toy poodles, all severely neglected, came to us in desperate need of help. Samantha, Shadow, Sara, Stacey and Sam were all feeling a bit down on themselves and had lost all self-respect and sense of caring or being loved. They were all a big mass of hair, matted, tangled and dirty. A few hours later they were all groomed, bathed, vaccinated and vetted. Then they all took immediately to snuggling up for a nice long nap, all clean and feeling good on their new beds. Samantha was pregnant and recently gave birth to four of the cutest little poodle puppies you can imagine. Now they all snuggle up on the bed together.
