How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were awarded several Kongs of various sizes.

We support all our fosters 100% in vetting and supplies. We feel it is necessary to give them several stimulating toys, and Kongs work perfectly for this. We stuff them with all sorts of goodies and the dogs have fun for hours!

We currently have more than 75 dogs in our care.

Duke is a big, freckled fella who came into our care with several issues. He has a soft, elongated palate that was neglected by his previous owners, and as a result, his larynx is now on the verge of paralysis. We have done several thousand dollars worth of surgeries and he is now not able to chew on bones, so the Kongs work perfectly for him. He also suffers from some separation anxiety issues, so the licking is calming and therapeutic for him. Duke is still available at www.petfinder.com/petdetail/36135281.
