Furkids Dog Shelter: Emergency Medical Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This emergency medical grant was used to pay for treatment of parvo for a dog named Beluga.

See below.

How many pets did this grant help?

Numerous. By saving the funds we would have used for him, there is no telling how many other lives were impacted.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Beluga was found on the side of the road by a good Samaritan who googled “animal shelters” and showed up at the front door of our cat shelter on a weekend. The dog was sick — very sick. We had no plans to rescue a sick pit bull that day, but how could we turn him away? No one was open and able to help, but we were. We rushed him to one of our vets, where we quickly learned he had parvo. Luckily we caught it in time and, with treatment, he was able to survive and be the crazy fun dog he is today. Your support and donation made this happen! Beluga is still waiting for adoption. Meet Beluga: www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35711307
