Nate's Honor Animal Rescue: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Petfinder Foundation Covid-19 relief funds were used for foster supplies. During mandatory lockdowns, all the animals were placed in foster homes. Foster families are provided with a crate, food, toys, formula, bottles, heating pads, etc., based on the age of the animal being cared for by the family.

100% of the animals who came into our care from mid-March through April were placed in foster. The community stepped up and opened up their homes, but with more than 100 families fostering animals, the expense to outfit each home was extensive. This grant helped provide those much-needed supplies to foster families so we could stay open.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

One of the new foster families that cared for animals during local lockdowns has become a repeat foster. The original litter they fostered was six puppies transferred out of Animal Control, where they were scheduled for euthanasia. Those puppies were all adopted to forever homes in the first week of April. They have fostered three other litters since then, all of whom have been adopted, and will continue to foster as long as their schedule allows.
