Feisty Acres Cat Rescue, Inc.: A Shot at Life Vaccination Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We are using the vaccines for rescued animals who are brought in to our shelter.

This grant is saving us money. We are able to use these vaccines on rescued cats and kittens who are brought to the shelter. These cats and kittens are often found on roadsides (most recently under the hood of a car in a restaurant parking lot), and the good samaritans who bring them in don't have the money to take care of them.

How many pets did this grant help?

So far, we have used six vaccines. But the year is young.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Remy was found with his siblings Smudge and Liberty in a box on the side of the highway. The box was taped shut with packing tape. The kittens were around six weeks old, hungry and thirsty, but fortunately, had not been there long when they were found. We have no idea why one of our volunteers decided to check and see what was in that box, but we are so very glad she did. All the furries survived, and they are all adopted out. We are thrilled!
