How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We are continually in need of quality beds for our cats to use while awaiting their forever homes. Unfortunately, this is often an item that is at the bottom of our purchase list, as basic needs like food, litter, and medical supplies remain a purchasing priority.

We were thrilled to be the recipient of the P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds grant, and our cats immediately started enjoying the beds as soon as they were distributed throughout our shelter. It was gratifying to see the cats enjoying the comfort provided by these beds.

How many pets did this grant help?

We expect to accept around 500 cats into our program this year. These beds will be available to all cats in our free-roaming rooms.

Momma (first photo) and Molly (second photo) were two cats who were surrendered by their owner when the owner became homeless. Prior to entering our shelter, they had only known the comforts of a home.

They both enjoyed spending a significant amount of time on the P.L.A.Y. pet beds, possibly equating the comfortable beds with the memories of their former home.

Both Molly and Momma have been adopted, and the beds are continually being used by our other cats.
