DESOTO COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES: A Shot at Life Vaccination Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
To vaccinate pets in the shelter in an effort to make them more adoptable and to save potential adopter initial expense with a newly adopted pet and we offered a cat vaccination day at the shelter.
We are sad to inform we had no greater adoption of pets from our shelter whether vaccinated or not that usual.
How many pets did this grant help?
12 felines were vaccinated in the community that would not have received them before and the rest of thew 50 doses were used in the kennel of which 2 went to rescues. Canines resulted in 4 adoptions & 3 were sussessfully reunited with owners.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
We do not have one particular story but the felines that were able to be placed with rescues were easier to place and the rescues were happy to know they were looking at less expense in placing these pets themselves.
