Humane Society of Tampa Bay: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funding was use to help provide vaccinations to animals in our care.

This grant helped to get these pets ready for adoption. Due to COVID-19, we were seeing a significant increase in the number of animals surrendered to us. Our county municipal shelter has been closed and we were the only shelter in our area accepting strays. We are glad that we were able to help get these pets ready for adoption so that they could find their forever homes.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Marshmallow was a 3-year-old, black-and-white American Staffordshire terrier who was brought in to our care after she was found as a stray. The county municipal shelter was closed due to COVID-19, so the good Samaratin brought her to HSTB. Marshamallow is a sweet dog who needed vaccines and was heartworm-positive. We are thrilled that she was adopted into her forever home!
