How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We bought the Kuranda Almond cat towers, as proposed, immediately upon receiving the award from the Petfinder Foundation: six of the two-nests and three of the three-nests. These went into our adoption room, where most of the cats roam in and out of their personal kennels, plus in the hallway, where many more lounge all day long.

How many pets did this grant help?

We normally take in 200 to 250 cats each year. This year we are on track to be in that normal range.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

One of our longtime residents was Tortellini, who is, as you would guess, a tortoiseshell. She had been in the shelter for two years but was not hesitant at all to claiming her spot on the new nest.

She became more willing to let us play with her and that consequently led to a quick adoption.
