Being a medical rescue, most to all of our rescues arrive to us not feeling well. It is nice to have treats around to entice them to eat and help reinforce socialization. Pictured is Lucy Lou. From her Petfinder profile: “Lucy Lou is ready to find her very own family and forever home! Lucy is a 3-year-old American pit bull terrier who was brought into the shelter with skin issues and heartworm-positive. She has already completed her heartworm treatment, her skin issues are fully resolved with appropriate care and good food and she has even recovered from the upper-respiratory infection she picked up while at the shelter. This little girl is extremely affectionate and well-behaved. She is housebroken, not destructive and working on her leash manners. She does well with other dogs her size if introduced properly but we recommend no small dogs or cats as she wants to chase them. She is great with people of all ages and just wants to be loved. She’s a perfect balance of cuddling on the couch watching Netflix but also would love to play ball at the beach or park.”
