45 MPH Couch Potato Greyhound Adoptions, Inc.: Orvis Dog Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The money was to care for our 14-year-old greyhound, Dolly, who was found living on the streets with her person. She had a fractured femur and needed a dental and blood work. Also for two other greyhounds who had sustained injuries racing and had to have them repaired before adoption.

It helped us with the huge medical bills and then we were able to get the greyhounds adopted.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Dolly (first photo) was found living in a car with her person on the streets. He had cancer and had lost everything he owned. We were able to get him in hospice care and, after Dolly was medically taken care of thanks to the huge support of the Petfinder Foundation’s Orvis grant, we were able to take her to see her him. We really appreciate the Petfinder Foundation and Orvis for helping to make this miracle happen!
