Good Karma Pet Rescue, Inc.: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The P.L.A.Y. Chill Pads were used to provide bedding and crate pads for various foster animals, from puppies and kittens to extra-large adult dogs.
This grant helped our organization by providing products that are always in need at our rescue. This year we have taken in more than 1,300 animals, and our supply office never has any beds. This grant provided a multi-purpose product that worked for animals to have a soft spot to lie and nap on, whether they were crated or not. These were easy to wash and keep in great condition to use for multiple foster pets after they get adopted and go to their forever homes.
How many pets did this grant help?
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Amalfi, Capri, and Sorrento (from top) are three kittens who were found in a box outside of a grocery store at just 3 weeks old. Their foster family had them from 3 weeks until they were 4 months old. They initially were in a soft playpen, then upgraded to a large two-story display cage because they were diagnosed with ringworm and needed an easily disinfectable environment. The Chill Pads provided them with a soft spot for the three of them to cuddle up. They were so easy to throw in the wash and disinfect/dry at high heat and they remained in great shape. Once they were cleared of ringworm, the kittens got upgraded to a large master bath, where they liked having their Chill Pads on the counter to nap and play. All three of them have been adopted! 🙂
