A Forever Home Animal Rescue: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

On April 25, we received 10 Special Edition Chill Pads through the Petfinder Foundation's 2022 P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant. It is always wonderful to have our dogs be able to rest in comfort while they are in our care. As a dog is adopted, his/her bed will be passed along to our next dog awaiting their forever home. We can't thank the Petfinder Foundation enough for the help they have provided us this year and in the past.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Jesse (first photo) is a 1.5-year-old bully mix weighing 66 lbs. She was adopted as a puppy a year ago and returned when the adopter relocated and was unable to take her.

It was initially difficult for Jesse to adjust to being in the rescue; however, with the wonderful care of our staff, good food, and exercise, she has really come around, although she is still somewhat timid.

She sits on command and has greatly improved on leash even though she is still so young. Her coat is a brindle color and beautiful. She eagerly awaits her forever home and is very happy with her new bed.

She is posted on Petfinder here.

Also pictured are two other dogs enjoying their new beds: Annie (second photo) and Bunny (third photo). Annie’s adoption is pending, and you can meet Bunny here.
