Kitten Associates: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The $250 grant went towards ultrasound and exploratory surgery for foster cat Flapjack Shortstack.

Because Flap had his surgery, he was finally able to be adopted by a loving couple. He and his sister were adopted together.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Flapjack has four-limb deformity due to his body being compressed in-utereo. His mom was pregnant when she was far less than a year old, so there wasn’t room for Flap and his three siblings. Four different vets suggested he be humanely euthanized, but we wanted to give him a chance. We believed he might need surgery on all his limbs, but in the end, only physical therapy was needed to help give him better, if not great, mobility.

Because Flap is such a sweetheart, we did everything we could for him. He doesn’t let anything get him down. He loves his life. He was so bonded to his sister, Sugarsnaps, that we made sure they were adopted together. He is in the most amazing home. Everything he needs, he gets. They built him ramps. He gets the best food. He has lots of toys and love. We couldn’t be more delighted. Flap has his own Instagram page so you can see how he’s doing today: @flapandfriends.
