The money was used for additional medical expenses not covered by our adoption fee.
We were able to pay for treatments of a dog with a severe case of mange.
This money was used to help a beagle-mix dog named Abigail who had a severe case of mange. She was almost unrecognizable as a dog because it had ravaged her face and body, leaving sore, red, bleeding skin behind. She was only four months old at this time and in [an open-admission] shelter. No one would adopt her in this state. We pulled her to safety and, with the help of a very dedicated volunteer, treated the mange over the course of several months. Once she was healthy and had her fur back and looked like the cute dog she is, she was quickly adopted. Now she is enjoying a happy life with her forever family. Your grant allowed DDR to treat and save a dog who would have been overlooked and possibly killed because no one could see past her outside. Thank you, Petfinder Foundation!
