ROAR - Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue: Orvis Dog Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Petfinder Foundation grant was used to purchase snuffle mats, Kongs, puzzle feeders, puzzle toys, durable treat-dispensing toys, and a flirt pole, as well as an outdoor agility set.

All these items have allowed us to improve the lives of each dog in our kennel by providing enrichment to reduce kennel stress, decrease behavioral issues, and help prepare them for adoption.

Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation, we are able to provide four different enrichments to enhance the quality of life for each of our dogs on a daily basis while they are at our shelter!

How many pets did this grant help?

100

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sweet Lily (first photo) and Jasper (second photo) have been with us for just about four long months now.

While they love to play together, they are not fans of making new friends, so these pups don’t get to participate in playgroups. Having regular enrichment for them allows for mental stimulation and helps reduce kennel stress while they await their forever home.

This adorable duo is still available for adoption! Meet Jasper here and meet Lily here.
