Lamar Animal Shelter: Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Purchasing vaccinations throughout the year to make sure that all dogs entering the shelter are protected.

Lamar, CO, is a lower-income area and a lot of times the dogs go unvaccinated. This grant helps the dogs who come into and leave the shelter to be protected against deadly diseases like parvo.

How many pets did this grant help?

This grant helped 357 dogs in this area!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

This grant has given me peace of mind when I come to work! I cannot say thank you enough to the Petfinder Foundation for making these grants possible! Since receiving this grant I have been able to vaccinate two litters of puppies that have come in this fall. I am sure that these dogs were not vaccinated. To be able to vaccinate them before they entered a shelter environment helps me feel better about their chances against parvo and other diseases. My friend Cole in the first picture is giving his thanks for his care!

Gus (second photo) is my senior pit bull who needed vaccinations with his veterinary care. Such a handsome fellow — check him out on Petfinder (www.petfinder.com/petdetail/39149083). Since I received this grant I have been able to vaccinate 111 dogs since September and I can have the peace of mind that I can continue to vaccinate as more dogs arrive!
