How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The products, Kong toys, are being used by our shelter/foster dogs.

The Kongs are helping the dogs so much! Chewing on the Kongs helps with their dental care and keeping their jaws strong. They help keep the dogs busy and help them release some of their built-up energy from being in a shelter.

How many pets did this grant help?

Right now, there are many dogs enjoying the Kongs. They were given to fosters and are used in the shelter. Each Kong is thoroughly cleaned before it is reused.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

One of our volunteers who is fostering four puppies is using the Kongs to help stimulate the pups. Each puppy is given a Kong with kibble or peanut butter inside and challenged to loosen the kibble or clean out all of the peanut butter from inside the Kong. One of the pups has learned to toss the Kong into the air hoping the kibble is released.
