Animal Rescue of the Rockies: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Our dogs LOVE Kong toys! They keep the dogs busy. They direct their energy in a positive way. The dogs don't chew on the "wrong" things. The Kongs are good for the dogs' teeth. The dogs enjoy playing with them, especially when they bounce in different directions. Frozen Kongs with peanut butter last such a long time and clean up easily.
We are so grateful for our big box of Kongs!

Being new to feeling safe in a foster home after life on the streets, 2-year-old Bubba cannot believe his good fortune! At a fit 55 lbs., he’s not new to affection, though, and he is especially sweet, snuggly, and social towards his fosters.
Although he’s friendly and frisky, he’s still learning, paw-step by paw-step, how to play more appropriately with other dogs. Brimful of puppyish energy and enthusiasm, he especially enjoys walks and bones, squeaky toys, stuffed toys, and rope toys for invigorating games of fetch.
Fond of car rides but not baths, he’s diligently at work on his “sit,” “leave it,” “go find,” “wait,” and “down” commands, but he only responds if treats are involved, requiring repetition — and rewards — to improve his responses.
Motivated by food and toys and at work on his manners and leash-, crate-, and housetraining skills, Bubba will blossom in a loving home with a strong yet patient “pack leader” who will perfect his manners, educate him fully, and keep him mentally stimulated and physically satisfied fur-ever.
Bubba is still available for adoption. You can meet Bubba here.
