Animal Rescue of the Rockies: KONG Toys Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We distributed the KONG toys to all our fosters as soon as they arrived. They were happily received by lots of dogs who were looking for something fun to play with to chew on and to draw their attention. Even the toughest chewer out there can have hours of fun with these toys. When positively engaging with KONGs, the dogs aren't destructive, making them better pets. A frozen KONG left with an anxious dog helps relieve anxiety when the foster leaves the house. And there isn't fluff left all over the house!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Lola is somewhat anxious, especially when first left alone. Her foster mom used frozen KONGs with peanut butter and dog food in them to distract her when Mom left the house. This relieved Lola’s anxiety and helped her to not bark when alone.

Lola was adopted into a wonderful home and is a loved and valued pet.
