How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The treats are being used in training our foster dogs who need rehab training to become good companion pets.

This grant donation of treats has allowed us to allocate the funds we would normally spend on treats to buy other training tools that are needed for rehabbing the dogs in our care. We have utilized the treats themselves in the training process and the vast majority of dogs love them.

Ivy is a young female pit bull with severe separation anxiety and frustration-nipping. Utilizing the treats, we are working on her targeting, waiting in a spot (to prevent the nipping), and many other important behaviors that will help her eventually integrate into a loving forever home. She is very responsive to the training that we are using and we hope to get her into a good foster situation in the very near future where we can work on behavior modification in a home environment.
