Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region/Pueblo Animal Services: A Shot at Life Vaccination Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Shot at Life Vaccination Grant was utilized to benefit our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program and our spay/neuter initiatives for National Feral Cat Day during the month of October.

Because of the Shot at Life Vaccination Grant - our shelter will be able to vaccinate 150 cats in our TNR program during the month of October. The grant enabled the shelter to further maximize resources for this program, while improving the quality of life for the community cats.

How many pets did this grant help?

150 total - 71 during the week of October 14-18 alone!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

There are over 300 active TNR colonies in our community. Without the dedication of ALL of our volunteer colony managers in community and the help of grants, we would not be able to provide the level of care for this population of cats.
