Burbank Animal Shelter: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Funds are used to maintain the overall needs of our shelter animals. Food, bedding and other supplies are purchased with grant funds. Additionally, during the last quarter of 2018, the shelter was able to purchase allergy and vaccination medications.

All additional funds help the shelter service and provide for the needs of the animals we care for. With the support of our Sponsor a Pet grants, the shelter can replenish supplies and food for our pets. In some cases, when our animals have specialized medical needs, extra funds allow our organization to pay for and meet those specialized needs.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Alfie was adopted after a few months in the shelter. He received treatment, vaccinations, and social assessments to make sure he was in the best shape before being placed in his forever home. From Facebook: “At only 3 years old, Alfie is a true street cat. He came to the shelter thinking he had to fight to survive. But after receiving lots of love and treats, he lowered his tough exterior and revealed his warm and sweet personality. Once he is comfortable, he loves attention and returns the favor with loud purrs and gentle head bunts. Alfie can be a little shy, so he will need a quiet home where he can enjoy some couch time and cuddles.”
