Yuzu has been adopted! From her Petfinder profile: Yuzu is quite timid and will need lots of quality bonding time to warm up to new people, but once she does, she’s affectionate, attentive and very loyal. Having been boarded with a trainer, Yuzu has made good progress and is getting better with new and unfamiliar situations; she’s fine with most people who display normal behavior, and she also got better meeting other dogs. However, she still needs a responsible handler who will take the time to get to know her well and understand the signals she sends (i.e., whether she’s comfortable or anxious in a certain situation), and can act and control her accordingly. Given her slightly challenging personality, we’d prefer to place her in a new home where she’s the only pet.

Yuzu’s definitely not the kind of uncomplicated and cuddly material that we often look for in a family dog because she has her “initial fear” issues, which will take lots of bonding time and patience to overcome. If you are prepared to give her the unconditional love she needs, Yuzu will be a very rewarding “project” for you, and in return, you will have the most loyal companion, as she will know that you are indeed her guardian angel. Yuzu is 4 years old and about 35-40 lbs.
