The Cat House on the Kings: Shelter+ Challenge Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We used the $1,000 for the ongoing care of the cats and kittens in our rescue and sanctuary: vet bills, food and litter all cost money!
The grant helped us because we recently had 6 cats dumped over our fence ~ ill with infection and blind. Your grant helped cover vet care costs and other costs (food, etc.) for them and many like them.
How many pets did this grant help?
6 blind cats benefitted from this grant, in addition to the other 1,000 cats in our sanctuary and rescue.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
When our employees arrived for work at 5am they found a box that had been thrown over the fence with 4 kittens and 2 6month old cats. All the cats had upper respatory infections and horriable eye infections, their eyes were crusted over. Because of this grant we were able to provide for these 6 kitties by sending them to the Vet to get expert care. As it turns out all of the kitties seem to have a genetic sight issues, they have very little sight. All of the kitties are healty now, they have been spayed/neutered and 3 of them have homes already waiting for them.
