Rescue Fenix: Bar Dog Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

With this grant, we were able to purchase vaccines and food for our rescue dogs. Our food source had dried up and we were (and still are) desperately trying to feed more than 100 dogs at any given time.

We were able to purchase a tray of vaccines that helped us save the lives of three litters of puppies. These puppies have gone on to find amazing families in their furever homes through out adoption program.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

At the end of 2022, we were alerted to a backyard-breeding situation of doodles. There were more than 100 dogs on the property and most were starving (first photo). Thanks to the grant, we had food on hand to feed these poor dogs. It took months to rehab them.

Bonnie was one of these doodles. Bonnie now lives with a little human and they adore each other (second photo). Hannah was another who was very pregnant when rescued. She had a litter of eight pups. All are doing well (third and fourth photos).

In total, we rescued 17 of these dogs. Thankfully, other rescues stepped in and saved the rest. All of our doodles except Hannah and her pups have gone on to find loving furever homes.

We are so grateful to have been able to help them with the help of the grant.
