SAFE Rescue Team: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We utilized the KONG toys for babies brought into rescue. We fill the KONGs with peanut butter and place them in the freezer. When pups are removed from a shelter or placed into a new foster, we allow them one week for decompression. We allow the animals to have the KONG in their crate. It helps with anxiety and gives them something to do while they decompress.
It absolutely did. Kongs are expensive, and we took in almost 150 animals in 2020.
How many pets did this grant help?

Most of our 2020 pets have been adopted. Fudge (first photo) is still looking for her forever home. She LOVES her KONG! She enjoys chewing on it for hours in her down time. Meet Fudge here.
