Jelly's Place: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Part of the grant was used for a vet exam for Eddie, the dog originally awarded the grant. Unfortunately, Eddie died before he was adopted. The remainder has been allocated to Meka, a senior pittie who is still waiting adoption.

We were able to provide Eddie with a vet exam and the medications he needed.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Eddie (first photo) was a 12-year-old poodle with heart failure. He was very sweet and he needed daily medication to support his heart. Unfortunately, he crossed the rainbow bridge before he was adopted. Meka (second photo) is a 9- to 10-year-old pittie who’s a big girl but very sweet, even though she looks mean. She has a heart murmur and because of it has not been spayed yet. The grant allowed us to have a vet exam and spay scheduled for Meka. It will hopefully help her get adopted. We will waive the adoption fee and provide a bed that she won’t chew and any medications she might need. She is at Jelly’s Place pending adoption. Meet Meka here.
