Passion for Pitties: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Passion for Pitties is a foster-based dog rescue, so we understand that we could not exist without our amazing network of foster families. As such, we try to supply our foster families with everything that they might need to care for their dog(s). We provide food, treats, leashes, collars, poop bags, and medical care.
Thanks to the 2022 P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant from the Petfinder Foundation, we are able to supply beds/crate mats to our foster families as well. Having supplies available for our foster dogs helps us to secure quality foster families such as Douglas' foster dad (story below)

Douglas was a sweet boy who was living at the local shelter. Passion for Pitties found an amazing foster dad for him.
The man who wanted to foster Douglas had no dog supplies, so we provided everything that Douglas might need, including a bed from the 2022 P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant award.
Once out of the shelter and comfortable, Douglas’ true personality emerged. He is a handsome, playful and loving boy. His foster dad fell in love with him and is currently in the process of adopting Douglas, now Dougie.
We likely would not have been able to secure Dougie’s foster dad had we not been in a position to immediately supply him with the things that he would need to care for his foster dog. The Petfinder Foundation is a part of that, so thank you!
