Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Our cats have been helped tremendously by the purchase of cat enrichment items! Items like slow feeders prohibit cats from eating too fast, while the toys we purchased are ideal for solo play or positive interaction with human caretakers.

All of the items engage an animal's brain and lower stress, which is imperative for cats who have undergone stressful situations. We made sure to purchase reusable and sanitizable items so the cost per use is low and the transmission of germs is stopped.

How many pets did this grant help?

80-100

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Our star pupil is Oliver (first and second photos), a kitten born with congenital spinal deformities and hyperesthesia (extreme skin sensitivity).

To prepare him for his forever home, Kitty Bungalow has worked with Orphan Kitten Club to cover his physical therapy costs. Oliver gets his brain and body exercised each day to keep him happy and strong. He loves playing with rolling balls and chasing them, using his upper body to propel himself.

We look forward to the day that he stands fully on his own, and finds a forever home as special as he is.

You can meet Oliver here.
