Bandit's Buddies Rescue: Bar Dog Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Petfinder Foundation's generous grant provided financial assistance for the veterinary services that prepare our dogs for adoption (spay/neuter surgery, rabies and DA2PP vaccinations, and microchip).

Since our resources continue to be significantly impacted by rising pet food and supply costs and decreased donations from our supporters due to the economy, this vital support has allowed us to rescue additional dogs who will be placed in loving homes of their own. We are exceptionally grateful for the support received toward our lifesaving efforts.

How many pets did this grant help?

Approximately eight dogs will benefit from this grant.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Lucy is an approximately 2-year-old fox terrier who had been living on the streets with a litter of very young puppies.

When we rescued her, she was infested with parasites and had previously been hit by a car, which permanently damaged her left front leg, leaving her unable to use it.

Now in our care, this sweet girl is safe, very healthy, and able to walk despite her injury. We have found adopters for most of her puppies, but are still searching for the perfect home for Lucy. Her days of trying to survive on her own and keep her puppies safe are long behind her.

You can meet Lucy here.
