We used the money to help cover supplies purchased for animals in rescue when COVID hit. We also used the money to help provide food and supplies for newly arriving animals.
This grant helped dramatically offset the $2,000 dollars we spent to stock up on supplies needed during the shelter-in-place that began on April 1, 2020.
Otis is a very large guy — he came in to the rescue in December at 25.5 lbs. We had Otis on a special weight-loss food and he lost 6 lbs. before being adopted during the Covid crisis. We were able to purchase a large bag of his food before the shelter-in-place began that we were then able to send home with his adopter so he had plenty of food.
