Cooper's Chance Animal Rescue: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Grant funds were used to purchase much-needed PPE, including face masks, gloves, and cleaning supplies, to assist in our rescue operations during COVID-19. As an essential business in Arizona, we continued to rescue shelter pets, provide assistance to pet owners, and transport shelter dogs from Navajo Nation after the COVID-19 outbreak. PPE was required and provided security to our volunteers that they would be safe as well.
Grant funds allowed us to purchase the required PPE to continue our operations during the COVID-19 outbreak, saving more than 120 dogs from February through August 2020.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Momma Pearl was rescued from Navajo Nation after an outbreak caused a shelter-in-place order and all traffic on and off the reservation was suspended. Luckily we were permitted to enter, rescuing more than 15 dogs at one time.
Pearl was found abandoned. Desperately trying to nurse four puppies, she was unable to stand or walk. She later tested positive for valley fever and is now receiving treatment and expected to make a full recovery. All of her puppies have been adopted.
