Pita & Pecan's Animal Refuge: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
PPAR used the grant funding from both the Petfinder Foundation and Yum! brand foods to purchase materials and prepare the rescue property for a perimeter fence.
The grant from the Petfinder Foundation allowed us to provide more space for our furbabies to roam safely on just under two acres of property. They now have the freedom to run and play and just be dogs for what is the first time for most of our animals.
How many pets did this grant help?

We house several sanctuary animals who will live out their days with us for various reasons. Currently, we have four dogs on the property who previously stayed in separate runs/kennels. Having this fence installed allows them to have more interaction with each other besides talking (barking) back and forth when they see or hear the mail carrier or delivery person.
All of our sanctuary animals are here because they have been too aggressive with other animals or people in the past and, sadly, were headed for the rainbow bridge prior to coming to us. The most aggressive babies have been with us going on two years and have always had to stay in separate areas and never had any real interaction with anyone other than their human mom and brothers. Now they can! Now they can all run and play and enjoy life while we continue to work on their aggressive tendencies that hopefully will continue to fade as they know more love — from people and other dogs.
