Crossing Paths Animal Rescue: Orvis Dog Enrichment Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Thirty elevated beds and 25 baby pools
Simple words of gratitude do not do your foundation's life-changing grant opportunities justice; nor do simple words of appreciation express the moving experiences of witnessing our rescues find comfort, discover security, or frolic in their “Canine Creeks” with newfound capabilities to keep cool, happy and healthy during our tough summer months and while they await their forever homes – offering more than we have in a rescue at times and serving our rescues well beyond the days of summer.
The Petfinder Foundation grant, providing 30 elevated beds and 25 baby pools for our organization, positively impacts all of the rescues that will cross our path in the next few months, as both their mental and physical well-being will be enhanced beyond what words could adequately describe – they now have a place of security to slumber, to rest weary heads above the heat of the day, and a baby pool in which to romp for both young and old, to provide cooling for the puppy that lives inside each and every rescue in our care.
The energy level and attentiveness of our rescues has increased and so have our sleepy heads after cooling off, and allowing natural air to flow to under bellies with the integration of elevated beds has enhanced our abilities to offer relief to rescues in our care. Elevated beds and pools have also aided greatly to improve staff cycle times by reducing continuous redistribution of assets throughout the rescue during the day and also reducing vigorous kennel checks, allowing us to focus upon and accomplish daily summer tasks with improved efficiency to meet the high-level standard of care provided to all of our rescues.
How many pets did this grant help?
A minimum of 60 via the elevated beds; a minimum of 50 via the baby pools
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
ANNOUNCEMENT: 2017 Crossing Paths Animal Rescue Summer Olympic Teams Sponsored by the Petfinder Foundation. The general health, energy level and attentiveness of our rescues has increased now that they can cool off in 25 new kiddie pools; 30 new elevated beds, which allow natural air to flow to under the dogs’ bellies, have enhanced our abilities to offer relief to rescues in our care during the extreme heat of our summer season. All the rescues in our care have benefited from the generosity of the Petfinder Foundation; these purchases will keep giving cooling, comfort, and stimulation to help our rescues remain healthy, happy, and adoptable.
Thousands in our care have reached the podium, but all are now able to cool down and get proper rest after a long day of circuit training and stimulation as they train for the gold: winning their own forever families. PICTURES ARE WORTH 1,000 WORDS — AND 1,000 WORDS COULD NEVER EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE!
