Mirabel (first and second photos) is just over a year old and weighs 45 lbs. She is full grown and appears to be a shepherd mix.

On Christmas Eve 2021, Mirabel was bitten by another dog. Her left ear and most of the skin on the left side of her face and head were torn off. She had what is called a de-gloving injury, where the skin and underlying tissue is pulled off of the layers below, usually by a fast motion.

Her left ear is completely gone, and she was left with just a small amount of skin surrounding her left eye. Little Mirabel endured this at only 7 weeks old!

She was brought to South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center and was surrendered for a better chance at life. She has been in our system ever since and, after several surgeries, is finally ready for adoption.

You can meet Mirabel here.
