It enabled us to take in more kittens(this year we are over 500 kittens already) plus cats that we would otherwise have not been able to.

Litter of 9 kittens and mom Allison came to us from Anne Arundel Co. Animal Control. This shelter does not vaccinate cats at intake. These kittens are now up for adoption with their vaccinations thanks to the grant of vaccines.

What was the money or product used for?

We bought leashes/collars, Greenie chew bones, and stuffed toys to provide the adopters. Also, we used a portion of the money to help spay/neuter our adopted pets.

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This helped our pets because they were able to go into their new forever homes on a good note and the new adopters didn’t have to worry about getting a new leash/collar or a toy for their new pet.

How many pets did this grant help?

Since December we have adopted out 67 dogs into their forever homes, and each adopter recieved an adoption kit.

This has helped out all our pets, it has enabled us to let the new adopter know that they are being provided certain items, so they won’t have to go out and obtain them.

We purchased much needed replacement fence panels and the volunteers took down the old fence and put up the new fence. It made our dogs safer and made the shelter look great. The new fence panels made it easier for the volunteers to move from yard to yard.

The smaller dogs were able to escape into other yards where they could have been hurt by bigger dogs. The new fence secured the play yards and made it safer for the dogs that were in the yards playing. The new fence made moving from yard to yard much easier for the volunteers, so they could interact easier with all the dogs.
