The Virginia Beach SPCA was hit with a hurricane that devastated their shelter and made functioning on a daily basis not possible. Right around this time, Petfinder.com Foundation gave them a grant to assist with repairing their facility. The Virginia Beach SPCA was thrilled to receive notifcation of the award, so that they would soon be able to repair their shelter and finalize the preparations needed to sustain the shelter for future disasters.
The Virginia SPCA is committed to ensuring South Hampton Road’s primary area resource for the provision of disaster emergency and relief services for animals. It is essential that they have the supplies and staff to stay fully prepared and equipped to withstand disaster conditions. Because of funds from the Petfinder.com Foundation disaster program they were able to stay atop of the hurricane season.
Karla Campbell, the shelter’s director thanks the Petfinder.com Foundation for their support and looks forward to a productive year with the impact the grant has provided for the shelter.
