Awareness
The Petfinder Foundation provides this privacy policy to inform you of the way your information is collected and used as well as to make you aware of our security practices. We also provide you with the opportunity to remove our name from our e-newsletter mailing list, if you desire to do so. Information We Collect
There are three different ways in which we collect information:
- From online signups for our e-newsletters.
- From online donations. This information includes your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and, if the donation is a gift, the recipient’s e-mail and/or mailing address. - From offline donations such as mailed checks.
How the Information is Used
The Petfinder Foundation may use your information to complete a transaction, issue you an income tax receipt for a donation, thank you for your donation, or send you e-mail updates about the Petfinder Foundation. Credit card numbers are used only for donation or payment processing and are not captured or retained by the Petfinder Foundation.
Sharing of Personal Information
The Petfinder Foundation never shares, sells, rents, leases or exchanges your contact information with other organizations, with one exception: If you make a donation toward a specific pet’s care through our Sponsor a Pet program, the contact information you provide will be shared with the participating rescue or shelter. The Petfinder Foundation is committed to ensuring the security of your personal information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the proper use of information, we have established and implemented appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online and offline. All donations through Click & Pledge and PayPal are encrypted as described in their privacy policies.
Cookies
The Petfinder Foundation does not use cookies on its site.

We are concerned about the privacy of young children and do not knowingly collect any personal information from a child under 13.
